Coleoptile: envelop surrounding the young stem.
Epicotyl: part of the plant above the cotyledon.
Hypocotyl: part of the plant below the cotyledon.
Radicle: part of the plant originating the root.
Point of attachment: point attaching the seed to the plant.
Seed coat: thin membrane that covers and protects the grain.
Starch: part of the grain from which flour is produced.
Germ: plantlet.
Shell: hard, solid covering of the grain.
Brush: hairy part of the grain.
