Trawler: fishing boat that drags a pocket-shaped net below the surface of the water.
Dinghy: small boat used mostly for manoeuvring larger boats.
Stack: device used for expelling smoke.
Masthead light: light at the top of the mast.
Radar: apparatus that detects objects through the use of microwaves.
Navigation bridge: raised platform from which a boat is operated.
Gantry: boom support.
Hawsehole: opening at the front of a boat for cables and chains.
Waterline: the level up to which the hull is submerged.
Anchor: steel or iron hook, attached to the ship by a chain, that holds the ship in place by hooking it to the bottom of a body of water.
Fishing deck: raised platform used for fishing.
Cocking bridge: raised platform from which a boat is operated.
Wind bass: apparatus used to roll up cable.
Fishing position: place from which to fish.
